How to Realign Your Social Media Strategy?

Has your social strategy been feeling a bit flat lately?

If you do not see the engagement you want, it might be time to go back to basics and refresh your approach. This blog will give tips on realigning your strategy for maximum impact.

It All Starts With Picking the Right Platforms

The first step to a sound social media strategy is always to ensure you’re on the right platforms for your audience, business, and goals. There’s no point wasting time and energy on platforms that don’t work for your business.

For example, if you’re a B2B company, LinkedIn will probably be more effective for you than Instagram.

Take some time to research where your target audience hangs out online and focus your efforts there.

PS: Don’t overlook email marketing, blogs, or even podcasts if it suits your offering; these are other ways to nurture your audience in conjunction with your social visibility.

Creating Engaging Content as part of your strategy

Once you’re on the right platform/s, it’s time to start creating engaging content.

Meaning interesting, informative, and visually appealing. If you’re unsure what content will work best for your accounts, look at what your competitors are up to. Not to copy but to get a feel of what’s working for them and how you might be able to adapt it to fit your brand voice and style.

Replying to Comments and Showing Personality

Another important yet often overlooked part of social media due to time limitations is engagement.

Creating time to respond to comments and questions from your followers promptly. It also means showing some personality!

Don’t be afraid to inject a little humour into your posts or ask your audience’s opinion on a business decision now and then.

Being original with your social strategy and looking for opportunities to collaborate or partner with causes or accounts that share a commonality will position and help you stand out from the crowd.
